July 31, 2007 Request for Proposals sought for Marina Operator, Bayfield Wisconsin Marina

The lease for management of the Bayfield Marina expires on December 31, 2008.  The City of Bayfield Harbor Commission is soliciting proposals beginning August 2007; the deadline for proposals is January 15, 2008.  The lease will be for a term of up to ten years with possible renewals.

 The Marina is located on the Western end of Lake Superior’s South Shore, the gateway to the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. There are 132 slips ranging in size from 25 feet to 50 feet.  The Marina serves both sail and power boats.  There is a multi functional building with 1260 square feet which houses a small store/office/storage closet space and shower facilities for the Marina; a fuel dock and pump out; a lift well that accommodates up to a 35 ton Travelift.   

The following equipment will not be provided by the City:

Travelift and Trailer.           

To receive the RFP Packet, proposers must pay a nonrefundable fee of $100.00
